"Post-90s" painters hand-painted 100 portraits of China cities in 4 years.
CCTV News (Reporter Dou Ruihua, Di Chenchen):Recently, in Chongqing, "post-90s" painters painted portraits of 100 cities in China in four years, one city and one scene, depicting the beautiful urban scene of China under the moonlight. The series of city portraits have also been urged by netizens in a fancy way: I want all the cities, and I want every hometown in Chinese.
Painter Park Zhen told CCTV reporter that he has been engaged in painting for 9 years, and the city series portrait "The Record of Oriental Gengetsu" began with a whim in 2018. At the same time, when he was a child, he also recorded many city names in his hometown notebook.
The creative sources of the main elements in different cities are different, some are landscape architecture, some are humanistic legends, but they all have the moon as a common image. Park Zhen believes: "The moon is a very poetic existence in traditional culture. It always illuminates the night of every city and bears witness to every touching legend."
"Good things are what everyone likes to see." In Park Zhen’s view, the process of creating portraits of these 100 cities is lonely and long, but he is satisfied that the series of works are loved by many netizens after completion. In the future, Park Jin plans to travel to more cities and have the opportunity to complete more city portraits.
